Teaching

Thank you for your interest in lessons!

My teaching places an emphasis on nurturing creative and healing practice habits, with the goal of increased confidence in and love for musical collaboration and engagement.

My private students have won high ranking All-State positions, attended international festivals, self-recorded solo albums, and held principal chairs in their school and regional ensembles. The studio consists of students with ages ranging from 6 to 74 and home locations including South Dakota, Virginia, Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Most importantly, my current and previous students continue to foster connections with their musical communities, whether it be through collegiate groups, regional orchestras, chamber ensembles, or local jam sessions. Read my Teaching Statement.

Current Openings in the studio include remote students and in-person students.

Testimonials

Taking lessons with Aimee has proven to be extremely helpful! Practicing has become easier to manage with clear instructions on how to improve, both in the piece we are working on, and in the long run.

I love these lessons! They’re terrific, and I feel as though I’m learning a lot and that these practices are helping me a ton! Also, they’re very fun!

Duet performance after less than a year of working together! Fun fact: it was also our first time playing in person together due to the pandemic.

Aimee is such a kind person, and makes me feel really comfortable to play around, which really helps as a person with really bad anxiety. She believes in me, has never made me feel that I wasn’t good enough, and has pushed me to become a better musician.
